Misagh graduated with a bachelor's degree in Soil science and a master's degree in Soil physics from the University of Guilan (One of the ten top universities in Iran). He also graduated with a Ph.D. degree in Soil science at University of Guilan with distinguished professor Dr. Mahmood Shabanpour. He got his first Postdoc at Departament of Geography, University of Valencia, Spain with full professor Dr. Artemi Cerdà. His main research interests lie in Hydrology, Soil Erosion, Environmental Science, Forest Ecosystems and Physical Geography. In addition, he is internationally recognized for his advances in studies related to soil detachment capacity by overland flow and techniques of soil conservation at this stage of soil erosion for ten years. At present, he is under a postdoctoral contract at Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria, Italy with professor Demetrio Antonio Zema.
